This artwork shows a few costumes I made for shows at Triad Stage in Greensboro, North Carolina. You can see the designer's sketches and my costume interpretation on the stage.
This dress was made from the many hundreds of pages of revisions that I did for my dissertation. It was in a fashion show and art exhibit at Frank Art Gallery in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
This dress is a ball gown with straps hand dyed with various hues of warm colors. the skirt has been hand dyed with these same colors.
The color on this dress was created using the shibori technique. I think it looks like pink lightning (yes, there is pink lightning).
This illustration shows how I will create this 100% cotton dress. It will have dolman sleeves, an off the shoulder neckline with wide shoulder straps.
